i'll be heading to LA this
week to play the masquerade ball with drew
and dalbo.
we played this one last year.
it was like going through the looking glass.
a wonderful, trippy occasion
in a fantastic venue - the classic henry
fonda theatre ...
after that it's into the
studio with the ever inspiring dave dale.
we'll be working on tracks
recorded on the farm in australia a while
ago
and maybe some other tracks
from different experimental sessions down
the years.
the plan is to put together a
quite different album of material.
it's a long while since we
looked at those tracks,
so I will know more once i
get into the cave with Dave...
seems like i was just in LA.
oh, i guess was.
we played the irish fest a
couple of weeks ago with the fenians.
the first time we played this
one - out at the dusty santa ana racetrack -
the fenians were playing too.
i think that was 1996.
so, we go back a ways but
have only connected now and again over the
years.
it was a pleasure to spend
some time with the lads even if it was a
heat wave.
i do believe i was swooning
with those damn bagpipes.
a far cry from the cool misty
climes of scotland ...
and now, it is sunday arvo in
the mountains.
wildflowers are everywhere
and somehow the country still keeps getting
greener.
our grass is cut, the beer is
cold and a storm heads our way.
bring it on.
